We would like to introduce Marissa, who will be working with us for several short-term clinical placements over the upcoming months.

Marissa Evarts is a student midwife through the Midwives College of Utah where she is working on a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery. She is currently working on her Phase II clinical requirements.
Marissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition with a focus on Women’s Health. While studying women’s health, she was drawn to begin following a path towards midwifery. She trained with CAPPA to become a doula and has attended over 100 doula births since 2007. In 2010, she completed the Advanced Practice Birth Support training with Cocoon Birth. Marissa is a certified GentleBirth Instructor and enjoys teaching childbirth education classes. She also completed a Midwifery Assistant Orientation course through the Midwives College of Utah. Marissa holds current certificates in Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR. In addition, she is a Reiki Master and has a teacher’s certificate in Kundalini Yoga.
Marissa has been married for 20 years and her boys are 10 and 4. She loves to be outdoors hiking and canoeing.Gardening is one of her most favorite forms of meditation. Marissa also shares her life with 3 dogs, several goats, a few turkeys, and many chickens.
Marissa resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and will be traveling to Denver for her placement. We are excited to welcome Marissa to Metro Midwifery!
